About the Course

The Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Training Program is intended to mitigate alcohol-related harm in local communities caused by underage drinking and the overuse of alcohol. The program ensures that alcohol servers have received instruction and education on responsible practices regarding the sale and service of alcoholic beverages.

Completion Reporting

The Certification Exam

You must take your alcohol server certification exam within 30 days of completing an RBS training course. You will take the certification exam through the ABC's Responsible Beverage Service Portal, and you must correctly answer at least 70% of the questions to pass the exam.

Server Certification

Certification records are maintained digitally within ABC's RBS Portal. ABC will not issue physical or downloadable RBS certificates. Your employer may establish the validity of your alcohol server certification only within ABC's RBS Portal.

An alcohol server certification is valid for a period of three (3) years from the date of issuance, and ABC will send notifications with renewal alerts as your certification nears expiration.

To renew an alcohol server certification, you must complete an approved RBS training course, pass the alcohol server certification exam, and pay a non-refundable registration fee to ABC, as for initial certification.
